It started raining and Saha stood there at window, watching the rains.
Coming from a small town, it was not easy for her to shift from home to this metro city. Like most of them, she was into a unknown city with much excitement and small fear in the corner.
Like everyone else Saha had dreamt of being Independent and living her dreams like the girl in the books she read, like the girl in the movies she watched.
She remembered all the emotions she had gone through, when her bus was departed from hometown. Excited about how her dreams are going to be true, how the girl in her super girl comic is going to be herself now, excitement about new place and of course new people. At the same time she had a fear of leaving home and family behind, staying away from home and making her identity among the new crowd.
In this new place, she watched the skyscraper buildings, as well small huts and slums. She watched People in car swiping on the smart phones, and also, people running to catch the city buses. She watched huge super markets and big shopping malls, as well street vendors struggling to get daily bread.
The city that was unknown to her and thousands like her, was about to become her home. It would be a part of her life, an inseparable one.
The dreamer in her was always awake. It was the time she worked on being herself, being the one she always wanted to be, the girl of her dreams.
Apart from daily routine of assignments and projects at work, she yearned for more. Saha drew interest in everything she observed.
With days passing so fast, she wondered if her dreams would come real one day. Surrounded by confusions, commitments and chaos, Saha would get lost in thoughts once in a while. The thoughts that were part of her dreams and goals.
She loved to travel, at the same time she loved to sit in same place every day and have deep conversations. She enjoyed her own company, at the same time wished to meet new people. She worked as an Engineer, at the same time she didn’t let go the artist in her. She yearned to make new friends but wished to live forever with those 4 best friends.
Saha was obsessed with sunrise and sunsets. They brought a new life in her, rejuvenated her freedom and made her fall in love with the life.
Saha enjoyed her work, but she knew this wasn’t enough. She wanted to travel to places, get to know new people and culture, learn new languages, and work on things would help change the world for better and have a freedom to fly her wings free.
She went out to explore herself. From walking into random art festival, talking to strangers and involving with new people and groups in the places she traveled, she started building her world. Because this was her world, if she failed to build it, someone else would snatch it from her.
Days moved so fast, the city had already accepted Saha, but the struggle to find her existence was continuous. Motivation to achieve her big dreams kept the struggle a less miserable one. But yes, she keeps reminding me of how difficult it was in the beginning, and why she didn’t give up. Between being scared to being comfortable the life had happened.
Like million others she stood there, but with the dreams in the eyes to remind her to embrace the life.
She stood there with million dreams!
